Fresh Watermelon Pizza

fresh watermelon pizza recipe - featured image

A playful and refreshing summer treat where watermelon slices serve as the pizza base topped with colorful fruits, yogurt, honey, and nuts. Perfect for kids and easy to make.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 medium seedless watermelon, sliced into 1-inch thick rounds
  • Fresh berries (strawberries hulled and sliced, blueberries, raspberries, or blackberries)
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt or vanilla yogurt (dairy-free coconut yogurt optional)
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • Chopped nuts (walnuts, pecans, or sliced almonds, optional)
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish
  • Optional extras: shredded coconut, mini chocolate chips, or a sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Slice the watermelon into 1-inch thick rounds (about 3-4 inches wide).
  2. Cut each round into 6 to 8 wedges like pizza slices. Pat slices lightly with paper towels if too juicy.
  3. Wash and prepare toppings: slice strawberries, rinse blueberries and raspberries, chop nuts if using. Place toppings in separate bowls.
  4. Arrange watermelon wedges on a serving platter.
  5. Spread dollops of yogurt on each watermelon slice using a spoon or spatula.
  6. Sprinkle fresh berries and chopped nuts over the yogurt-topped slices.
  7. Drizzle honey or maple syrup lightly over the top.
  8. Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
  9. Serve immediately or chill in the fridge for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use a firm, seedless watermelon for easier slicing. Pat watermelon slices dry to prevent yogurt from sliding off. Greek yogurt works best for thickness. Kids enjoy decorating their own slices. For a warm twist, grill watermelon slices 2 minutes per side before assembling.
