Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) strawberry or cherry flavored gelatin mix
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vodka or water for a non-alcoholic option
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vodka or water
  • 1 package (3 oz / 85 g) blueberry or berry-flavored gelatin mix
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • ½ cup (120 ml) vodka or water
  • Star-shaped mini jars (about 2 oz / 60 ml capacity)
  • Optional: fresh berries for garnish (blueberries or sliced strawberries)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: In a medium mixing bowl, dissolve 1 package of strawberry or cherry gelatin in 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water. Stir briskly for about 2 minutes until completely dissolved. Add ½ cup (120 ml) vodka or water. Let it cool for 5 minutes but don’t let it set.
  2. Pour the Red Layer: Using a small ladle, carefully fill each star jar about one-third full. Place jars in the refrigerator for 30 minutes, or until the gelatin is firm to the touch.
  3. Make the White Layer: In a clean bowl, dissolve 1 package of unflavored gelatin in 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water. Stir until smooth. Add ½ cup (120 ml) sweetened condensed milk and ½ cup (120 ml) vodka or water. Whisk until well combined. Allow to cool slightly, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the White Layer: Once the red layer is set, gently pour the white mixture on top, filling each jar until about two-thirds full. Refrigerate again for 30 minutes to set.
  5. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve 1 package of blueberry gelatin in 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water, stirring well. Add ½ cup (120 ml) vodka or water. Let cool for 5 minutes.
  6. Finish with the Blue Layer: Pour the blue gelatin on top of the white layer, filling the jars to the brim. Chill for at least 2 hours until fully set.
  7. Serve and Garnish: Optionally, top with fresh berries or a small mint leaf before serving. Keep refrigerated until ready to enjoy.

Notes

Pour each gelatin layer slowly over the back of a spoon to avoid mixing colors. Chill each layer until firm before adding the next to keep distinct layers. Use quality gelatin for best setting. For non-alcoholic versions, replace vodka with water or sparkling soda. For dairy-free white layer, substitute sweetened condensed milk with coconut cream or almond milk mixed with powdered sugar.
