A quick and easy peach cobbler dump cake topped with a cinnamon streusel, perfect for last-minute desserts or casual gatherings. This comforting dessert combines juicy peaches, tender cake, and a crunchy cinnamon topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 29 oz (825 g) canned peach slices in juice or light syrup
  • 15.25 oz (432 g) yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup (30 g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup (60 g) chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Drain the canned peach slices, reserving about ¼ cup (60 ml) of the juice.
  3. Pour the drained peaches evenly into a prepared 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading them out gently to cover the bottom.
  4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the peaches without mixing.
  5. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix layer, spreading with a spoon if needed.
  6. In a mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, all-purpose flour, and chopped nuts (if using). Stir until well combined to make the cinnamon streusel topping.
  7. Sprinkle the streusel mixture evenly over the buttered cake mix.
  8. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until the edges bubble and the streusel top turns golden brown. Tent loosely with foil if the top browns too fast.
  9. Let the cobbler cool for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow the filling to thicken.

Notes

Do not stir the layers to allow the cake mix to absorb peach juice slowly for a custardy texture. Use room temperature melted butter for even drizzling and browning. Tent with foil if the streusel browns too quickly. Let the cobbler rest after baking for easier serving. Optional: add nutmeg or ginger to streusel for extra spice. Substitute gluten-free cake mix and flour for gluten-free version; use dairy-free butter alternatives for dairy-free.
