These mummy hot dogs are a quick, fun, and kid-approved Halloween dinner made with just hot dogs and crescent roll dough. Ready in 20 minutes, they’re perfect for feeding the family before trick-or-treating.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 hot dogs (standard size)
  • 1 can (8-count) crescent roll dough
  • Mustard (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate along the perforated lines to get 8 triangles.
  3. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3-4 thin strips, about 1/2 inch wide.
  4. Wrap one strip of dough around a hot dog, starting at one end and working to the other, leaving a small gap near the top for the face. Repeat with all hot dogs.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about an inch of space between them.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and puffy.
  7. Let cool for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Add two small dots of mustard on each hot dog for eyes.

Notes

Don’t over-wrap the hot dogs; leave space for the face. Use parchment paper for easy cleanup. Let kids help wrap the dough for fun. For cheesy mummies, cut a slit in the hot dog and stuff with cheddar before wrapping. For gluten-free, use gluten-free crescent roll dough. Leftovers keep in the fridge for up to 3 days; reheat in the oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes or in an air fryer at 350°F for 3 minutes. Can be frozen before or after baking.
