A quick and easy homemade recipe featuring crispy Rice Krispies cereal, melted marshmallows, and colorful rainbow sprinkles, perfect for kids’ parties and last-minute treats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal (about 150g)
  • 10 oz (280g) Mini Marshmallows
  • 3 tbsp (45g) Unsalted Butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (about 90g) Rainbow Sprinkles
  • Optional: A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
  2. Melt 3 tbsp (45g) of unsalted butter in a large heat-resistant bowl over low heat or in the microwave in 30-second bursts, stirring in between until fully melted but not browned.
  3. Immediately add 10 oz (280g) of mini marshmallows to the melted butter. Stir continuously until the marshmallows are completely melted and smooth.
  4. Quickly add 6 cups (150g) of Rice Krispies cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Stir gently but thoroughly, ensuring all cereal pieces are coated without overmixing.
  5. Gently fold in 1/2 cup (90g) of rainbow sprinkles to distribute evenly without melting their color or texture.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Using a buttered spatula or greased hands, press the mixture firmly and evenly to the edges without pressing too hard.
  7. Let the treats cool at room temperature for about 1 hour or until firm. Do not refrigerate.
  8. Once set, lift the treats out of the pan using the parchment paper and cut into squares using a sharp knife. Wipe the knife with a warm damp cloth between slices for cleaner cuts.

Notes

Melt butter and marshmallows slowly to avoid burning. Fold cereal gently to keep treats crispy. Add sprinkles last to maintain their color and crunch. Press mixture gently into pan to avoid dense treats. Use parchment paper for easy removal. If marshmallows start setting early, gently rewarm over low heat.
