These crispy air fryer pork chops with garlic butter are a quick and easy weeknight dinner that comes together in under 25 minutes. The air fryer creates a shatteringly crispy coating while the garlic butter adds rich, irresistible flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick (roughly 6 ounces each)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • Olive oil spray
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the pork chops: Place each pork chop between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper. Pound them to an even 1/2-inch thickness using a meat mallet or rolling pin. Pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Set up your breading station: In the first shallow bowl, place 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour seasoned with a pinch of salt and pepper. In the second bowl, beat 2 large eggs with 1 tablespoon of water. In the third bowl, combine 1 cup panko breadcrumbs, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper. Mix until evenly distributed.
  3. Bread the pork chops: Working one at a time, dredge each pork chop in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off. Finally, press it firmly into the panko mixture, making sure both sides are well coated.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F and let it preheat for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Place the breaded pork chops in a single layer, making sure they don’t touch. Work in batches if needed.
  6. Lightly spray the tops of the pork chops with olive oil spray. Cook at 375°F for 8 minutes, then flip carefully using tongs. Spray the other side and cook for another 6-8 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  7. While the pork chops cook, make the garlic butter: Melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add 4 minced garlic cloves and cook for about 1 minute, until fragrant but not browned. Remove from heat and stir in 2 tablespoons of chopped fresh parsley if using.
  8. As soon as the pork chops come out of the air fryer, brush them generously with the garlic butter. Let them rest for 3-5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Don’t skip pounding the chops to even thickness for consistent cooking. Let the coating set for 5 minutes before air frying to help it adhere. Don’t overcrowd the basket to ensure crispiness. Check internal temperature early to avoid overcooking. Use fresh garlic for the butter for best flavor.
