A quick and easy 5-minute prep recipe for creamy overnight oats with rich chocolate and peanut butter flavors, perfect for busy mornings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (90g) rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons (10g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons (48g) creamy peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon (12g) chia seeds
  • 2 tablespoons (30ml) maple syrup
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk of choice
  • 1 teaspoon (5ml) vanilla extract
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Optional toppings: sliced banana, dark chocolate chips, chopped peanuts, fresh berries, coconut flakes

Instructions

  1. Combine the dry ingredients: In a mason jar or container, add rolled oats, cocoa powder, and chia seeds. Stir to break up cocoa clumps.
  2. Add the wet ingredients: Spoon in peanut butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt.
  3. Pour in the milk slowly.
  4. Stir everything together thoroughly until peanut butter is fully incorporated and mixture looks like chocolate milk with oats.
  5. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight (8-12 hours).
  6. In the morning, stir the oats. If too thick, add a splash of milk.
  7. Add toppings and serve cold or at room temperature.

Notes

For best texture, let oats sit overnight. Stir before refrigerating and again before closing the fridge. Use creamy peanut butter for smoothest results. Chia seeds are essential for creamy texture. Store in fridge for up to 5 days. Freeze for up to 3 months.
