Creamy Deviled Egg Chicks Recipe Easy Homemade with Everything Bagel Seasoning

A playful and creamy deviled egg appetizer featuring a smooth cream cheese filling and a crunchy everything bagel seasoning topping, perfect for parties and family gatherings.

  • 6 large eggs, hard-boiled and peeled
  • 2 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons everything bagel seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
  • Black pepper, freshly ground, to taste

Instructions

  1. Place 6 large eggs in a medium saucepan and cover with cold water by about 1 inch. Bring to a rolling boil over medium-high heat. Once boiling, turn off the heat, cover, and let sit for 12 minutes. Transfer eggs to a bowl of ice water to cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Gently crack the cooled eggs and peel under running water to remove shells easily. Slice each egg in half lengthwise. Set the whites on a serving plate, yolk side up.
  3. Carefully scoop out the yolks into a bowl. Add 2 oz softened cream cheese, 2 tablespoons mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard, 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mash with a fork or beat with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  4. Using a sharp paring knife, carefully carve a small “V” shape into the pointed end of each egg white half to form a beak. Slice tiny wings by making shallow cuts on the sides.
  5. Spoon or pipe the creamy yolk mixture back into each egg white half, mounding slightly.
  6. Sprinkle about 1/4 teaspoon of everything bagel seasoning over each filled egg to add crunch and flavor.
  7. Sprinkle finely chopped fresh chives over the eggs for color and mild onion flavor. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

If the filling is too thick, add a splash of milk or more mayonnaise to loosen it. Carve the chicks when eggs are cold to prevent crumbling. Add everything bagel seasoning just before serving to keep it crunchy. For dairy-free, substitute cream cheese with plant-based alternative and mayo with vegan mayo. Adjust seasoning to taste.
